Hi, I’m Dr. Carmen!
Dr. Carmen Stephens, LPCC, Therapist
Hi, I’m Dr. Carmen! Nice to meet you. I hope you find a counseling service that best fits your needs.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California and am registered on Psychology Today. I have an additional specialty as a certified rehabilitation counselor. I am of multiple ethnic descent, and I embrace cultural diversity in each interaction. My goal is to encourage and allow the client to dive into their potential with self-awareness and self-exploration.
As a practitioner, I am educated, experienced, and/or trained in counseling, career, disability, and social work. In my experience, I have worked with youth and adult populations. I have experience with nonprofits and the city to address counseling with various community areas, including substance abuse, domestic violence, career transition, and re-entry into society/housing. I have completed group facilitation, workshops, and individual & group counseling.

Helping You Navigate Life’s Transitions with Confidence
| Life Transitions • Career Stress • Personal Growth |
Life may look different from what you expected. A change in your health, career, relationships, or circumstances can leave you feeling overwhelmed or unsure of what comes next. Even if you’re used to handling things on your own, you deserve support as you find your footing.
I work with adolescents and adults who feel stuck between where they are and where they want to be. I believe you have strengths to draw on, even when stress or difficult experiences make them hard to see. In therapy, we’ll make room for your story, understand what’s getting in the way, and find practical steps toward the changes that matter to you.
My Experience
I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and I graduated from the University of Southern California’s doctoral program in Social Work.
My experience spans community mental health, nonprofit organizations, public service programs, and rehabilitation settings. I’ve supported people affected by substance use, domestic violence, housing instability, career transitions, disability-related concerns, and re-entry into the community after significant life disruptions.
My background as a rehabilitation counselor informs how I help clients adapt to change and recognize their capabilities. As someone of diverse ethnic heritage, I also value cultural awareness and want you to feel respected and understood in our work together.
My Approach
Therapy with me is a collaborative partnership. You’re the expert on your life; my role is to listen, offer perspective, and help you develop tools that fit your needs and goals.
I draw from Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. That may mean exploring patterns that keep you feeling stuck, practicing new ways to cope, or breaking a big change into manageable steps.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you’re ready for support through a difficult season, I’d be glad to work alongside you.

Who I Help
I work with women who are navigating:
- Anxiety, stress, and the pressure to keep it all together
- Burnout at work or at home
- Career changes and questions about what comes next
- Relationship concerns and difficulty setting boundaries
- Self-esteem and identity shifts
- Disability or chronic health-related changes
- Unexpected life transitions
Maybe you’ve worked hard to build a life that looks good from the outside, but inside you feel stretched thin or unsure whether it still fits you. Together, we’ll make space to explore what you’re experiencing, reconnect with your strengths, and take practical steps toward a life that feels more like your own.
